## Description

East Lancashire Down’s Syndrome Support Group (ELDSSG) is a charity supporting people with Down’s syndrome and the families, carers and professionals around them. It welcomes new and expectant parents, grandparents, other relatives, carers and teachers, offering a place to connect, share experiences and find support. The group holds monthly meetings on the first Saturday of each month, open to the whole family. These gatherings include fun activities and games, opportunities to meet other families, and a sensory area for relaxing, alongside singing and signing. ELDSSG also runs family weekends and provides speech and language support. Its work extends to training schools and helping to train new midwives, as well as offering assistance with matters related to Down’s syndrome. The organisation describes its website as under development and invites people to contact the group for further information. East Lancashire Down’s Syndrome Support Group is registered as a charity under number 1149790 and is based in Helmshore, Lancashire.
