Our story began in 2012, in a humble kampung backyard, where Sabina Arokiam, Juergen Soecknick, and Shao-Lyn Low came together with the vision of bringing people closer to their food and the process of cultivation. Starting with a small capital and a suburban house in Petaling Jaya, we brought together experts and enthusiasts interested in learning about gardening and sustainable food practices. In 2015, we expanded our offerings to include edible gardening goods, helping aspiring gardeners with seeds and quality soil to kickstart their own gardens. Over the years, Eats, Shoots & Roots has grown into a dedicated team passionate about maximizing urban spaces. We convert balconies into edible gardens and bring back the joy of outdoor classrooms for learning and exploration. Our team includes Shao-Lyn Low, Design Director, Naqib Iskandar, Head of Greenscapes, Chia Zhi Yun, Project Manager, Beatrice Yong, Strategy Director, as well as our talented garden intern, Nori.
