## Description

The European Bird Census Council (EBCC) is a specialized organization dedicated to the conservation and study of bird populations across Europe. Through collaborative efforts, the EBCC aims to facilitate bird monitoring and census initiatives, significantly contributing to avian research and environmental awareness. The organization actively manages several key projects, including the European Breeding Bird Atlas 2 (EBBA2), the Pan-European Common Bird Monitoring Scheme (PECBMS), and the EuroBirdPortal (EBP), which collectively provide critical insights into bird distribution and trends.

In addition to research projects, EBCC publishes the "Bird Census News" journal, offering the latest updates and findings in bird monitoring. The council is enriched by a robust network of delegates and partners across various countries, enhancing its outreach and effectiveness. The EBCC encourages community engagement through workshops, conferences, and a quarterly newsletter, making it a pivotal force in avian conservation efforts in Europe.
