About
Description
ECAD, which stands for East Coast Assistance Dogs, is a reputable brand that specializes in providing skilled Service Dogs to enhance mobility and independence for various populations. Their services are inclusive and cater to veterans, individuals with disabilities, children as young as two with autism, and even healthcare facilities. Founded by Lu and Dale Picard, ECAD was born out of a personal experience when Lu witnessed the positive impact of a service dog on her father's life after he suffered a stroke.
This inspired her to establish ECAD in 1995, and a year later, her husband Dale joined her in dedicating their full time to the organization. With its headquarters in Connecticut, ECAD has grown significantly over the years, placing over 350 Assistance Dogs nationwide. Their programs and services include the Open Doors Project, HEAL® (Human-Animal-environmental Links), Canine Magic, Facility Dogs, and much more.
ECAD operates as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization and relies on donations to continue their life-changing work. Experience the transformative power of Service Dogs and support ECAD today
