## Description

The Club d’Échecs de Veigy-Foncenex is a chess association serving players and families in Veigy-Foncenex, Douvaine, and Bons-en-Chablais. Affiliated with the French Chess Federation, the club welcomes beginners from age five, young competitors, and adults, with weekly sessions held during the school season. Its programs include beginner and intermediate groups, competition training for promising young players, an elite course led by a FIDE Master, and an adult session. Players can also take part in competitions ranging from local youth circuits and school events to departmental, regional, and French championships, interclub matches, and women’s competitions. The club organizes open events including the Rapide de Veigy, the Rapide Jeunes, and the annual Blitz de Veigy, hosted in the Veigy-Foncenex community hall. These tournaments attract players of different ages and experience levels; recent events have drawn around 100 participants. With courses across three towns and trial sessions available, the association offers ways to learn, improve, compete, and enjoy chess together.
