## Description

Eclipse Megamovie 2024 (EM2024) is an innovative project funded by NASA that invites passionate individuals to participate in groundbreaking research about solar phenomena. Building on the success of the 2017 project, which utilized thousands of images from citizen scientists to create a stunning visualization of the solar corona during a total eclipse, EM2024 aims to uncover the mysteries of solar jets and plumes. Participants can contribute by photographing solar eclipses with DSLRs and tripods, allowing them to play an integral role in scientific discovery.

The project brings together a team of dedicated scientists, educators, and astronomy enthusiasts who share a fascination with the natural world. As they prepare for the April 8, 2024, total solar eclipse, they focus on improving image quality and understanding transient features in the solar corona. EM2024 offers a unique opportunity for anyone to engage in participatory science and contribute to ongoing research, continuing the legacy of collaboration and exploration ignited by the previous Megamovie project.
