## Description

Ecogine.org is an eco-friendly search engine that donates its profits to selected environmental associations, determined by the votes of internet users. The name Ecogine is derived from Ecological search Engine, emphasizing their commitment to being an environmentally conscious platform. The association was established on April 9, 2008, by three students from Polytech'Nantes, an engineering school at the University of Nantes. Today, the management of the site is shared with the For the Children of the Pays de Beleyme association, an environmental education organization based in Dordogne, France. With a team of dedicated volunteers, including a President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Webmaster, Ecogine.org operates transparently. Users can search the engine as they would with any other search engine, receiving results from Google France. The difference is that every search on Ecogine generates revenue, which is then distributed to environmental associations chosen by internet users, following a regulated process overseen by a bailiff. In addition to its charitable initiatives, Ecogine.org is the only search engine to offer high-definition nature-themed wallpapers for users' enjoyment. The stunning photos feature landscapes and natural elements without any visible human activity, sometimes showcasing the work of professional or amateur photographers. To minimize its impact on the environment, Ecogine.org compensates for the greenhouse gas emissions produced during searches by redirecting a portion of its revenue to support projects that aim to reduce these emissions. Furthermore, the platform is hosted by Infomaniak, a provider that adheres to strict ecological principles, including the use of renewable energy sources and carbon offsetting. By using Ecogine.org, users contribute to a more ethical and eco-friendly online experience while supporting environmental causes. Spread the word about this innovative search engine and help make all internet searches eco-conscious.
