## Description

EcoGipps is a family-led conservation initiative in Gippsland, Victoria, founded by Jim and Heather Phillipson after they purchased a cleared 92-acre property in 1984. Working with their family and community, they have restored native grasslands, woodlands and river habitats, with the goal of creating wildlife corridors that connect important natural areas. EcoGipps has since expanded to several properties across the region, each supporting distinctive habitats and contributing to biodiversity conservation.

Its landholdings include The Farm and North Paddock at Maffra West Upper, Huggetts near Monomak, and the Lower Block northwest of Maffra. These properties contain features such as remnant plains grasslands, threatened plant habitats, open woodlands, springs and riparian environments. EcoGipps also encourages community involvement and shares information through news, activities and conservation resources. To help secure lasting protection for its land, the Phillipson family is donating properties to BioDiversity Legacy, a not-for-profit organisation that supports long-term, community-led environmental stewardship. EcoGipps acknowledges the Gunaikurnai people as Traditional Custodians of the region.
