## Description

EcoKey is a Costa Brava brand offering an automatic energy-saving system for holiday rentals. Its kit uses a small electrical-panel module and a key-fob tag to switch off selected circuits when guests leave, then restore power when they return. After a configurable five-minute wait, the system can turn off equipment such as air conditioning or heat pumps, electric water heaters, televisions and non-essential lights. Guests simply carry their keys; they do not need an app or special instructions. EcoKey works locally without relying on Wi-Fi and is designed to leave essential services, including routers, refrigerators, locks and alarms, connected. The company offers the EcoKey kit for €249, with the first year of EcoKey Care included, plus a savings calculator and a service to check a property’s suitability and estimate potential savings. EcoKey shares an example from a one-bedroom apartment in Blanes, where reported monthly electricity costs fell from €156 to €84 during high season. Results vary depending on the property, electricity tariff and usage.
