Economist Club Luxembourg (ECL), formerly known as ADUSEC, has been in existence since 1964. The primary mission of the club is to bring together professionals with degrees in economics, management sciences, and related fields, in order to foster collegiality and solidarity. Regular friendly gatherings on current economic, financial, and political topics related to Luxembourg and abroad provide numerous opportunities for economists from various professional backgrounds to meet, exchange ideas, and establish valuable professional connections. The association also aims to promote economic and management knowledge. It organizes lecture series and seminars, inviting recognized specialists to present their views and shed light on the current economic, political, and societal challenges. The goal is to gather and exchange knowledge and perspectives on sometimes lesser-known subjects, and to invite speakers from diverse backgrounds to address a body of economists. ECL establishes contacts and affiliates with other Luxembourgish or foreign associations that share similar objectives, such as universities, central banks, and para-governmental institutions. A Memorandum of Understanding exists between the University of Luxembourg and ECL, under which the Economist Club annually awards the Best Thesis in Economics prize. Furthermore, Economist Club Luxembourg provides a platform for its members to take a stand and express opinions on various economic themes based on the pooling of knowledge and professional experiences in a non-profit collective project. The club maintains a strictly neutral stance regarding politics, philosophy, and religion. Since its inception, Economist Club Luxembourg's primary mission has been to create a space for debate and a forum for exchange among economists.
