West African Power Pool

West African Power Pool (WAPP) is a specialized agency of ECOWAS, dedicated to the cooperation of national electricity companies in Western Africa. As the association of public and private power entities, WAPP aims to harmonize electricity planning and operation of pooled electric systems in ECOWAS member states. With its coverage in 14 out of the 15 countries of the regional economic community, including Benin, Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra, WAPP plays a vital role in improving cross-border and reliable flows of electricity in the region.
