Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) is set to make a captivating return from August 15 to August 21, 2024. With over 70 years of festival history, the newly revamped EIFF will showcase top filmmaking talent in a refreshed format that celebrates local Scottish culture while embracing global creative diversity. This revitalized event will feature two major competitions, The Sean Connery Prize for Feature Filmmaking Excellence and the Best Short Film competition, offering substantial prize money to winners. Held alongside other creative festivals in Edinburgh, including the International Festival and the renowned Festival Fringe, EIFF encourages audiences, film enthusiasts, and industry professionals to experience the beauty and history of Edinburgh. Led by Festival Director Paul Ridd and Festival Producer Emma Boa, EIFF aims to provide a world-class platform for independent films and filmmakers. Submissions for the 77th edition of EIFF are currently open, welcoming creators and film enthusiasts to be a part of this exciting festival.
