## Description

Edinburgh Community Solar Co-operative is a community-owned renewable energy organisation that develops and operates solar power installations across Edinburgh. It owns 30 installations, with a combined generating capacity of 2.1 MW, located on buildings including council schools, community centres and leisure facilities. The co-operative generates approximately 1.1 GWh of clean electricity each year for these sites and the wider grid.

People can invest in the co-operative by purchasing shares, which provide members with a fixed return. Any excess profits are directed towards community projects in Edinburgh that support sustainability and renewable energy. Through its Community Fund, the organisation awards grants to local groups and initiatives; its recent awards have supported organisations such as Edinburgh Tool Library, which helps residents access tools while reducing waste.

Edinburgh Community Solar Co-operative also provides information about its history, governance, partners, investment model and solar panel locations. Its website shares news, explains how the co-operative works and offers resources for members and prospective investors.
