## Description

The Edward Showler Foundation is a UK-registered charity dedicated to funding research into clear cell sarcoma, a rare cancer that arises in connective tissue and has no effective treatment. Established in memory of Dr Ed Showler, who died from the disease in 2017 aged 28, the Foundation works to help advance understanding and find a cure.

Since its launch, the charity has raised more than £1 million and funded the Edward Showler Foundation Clear Cell Sarcoma Research Programme at University College London’s Cancer Institute. Its support has helped catalyse further investment and build an international research network involving institutions in the UK, Europe and the United States. The Foundation has also co-hosted an international research workshop and contributed to a roadmap for future research.

Alongside research funding, the charity aims to increase awareness of sarcoma, improve communication between doctors and patients through a programme with the University of Cambridge, and fund Memory Days for seriously ill young adults.
