## Description

Edzerdla is a Franconian dialect festival held in Burgbernheim, in western Middle Franconia, bringing together regional musicians, writers, comedians and performers. The 2024 edition, the festival’s third, took place from June 7 to 9, following earlier events in 2016 and 2018. Organized by the City of Burgbernheim with support from a volunteer team, Edzerdla celebrates Franconian language and culture through live music, literature, cabaret and other small-scale performances.

The 2024 program featured a wide range of established and newly discovered Franconian dialect artists, performing across two stages at Kapellenberg and the orchard meadow. Highlights included an opening performance by Bamberg’s Kellerkommando, alongside numerous bands, solo musicians, authors and theatre performers. The event also included a Franconian-language church service, a regional market, and food, sales and information stalls. Edzerdla offers a welcoming cultural gathering for audiences of all ages, with free admission for children under 15 accompanied by an adult. The festival takes place outdoors, with tent cover provided in case of poor weather.
