## Description

Stichting Egelopvang Haarlem e.o. is a charitable organisation founded in 2011 to care for hedgehogs in need. Based in Haarlem, the foundation takes in around 600 hedgehogs each year, relying on volunteers and donations to support its work. It holds ANBI status, a Dutch designation for public-benefit organisations.

The foundation provides guidance for people who find a hedgehog, including information on when an animal may need help and what to do. It advises callers to contact the rescue centre before intervening. Its activities also include sharing hedgehog information through educational visits to classrooms, an information stand, facts about hedgehogs, and practical tips for making gardens more suitable for them. The organisation publishes a newsletter to keep supporters informed and welcomes help from both volunteers and donors or sponsors. Its website also provides organisational information, links, contact details, and information about its charitable status. For an hedgehog in urgent need, the foundation asks the public to call its listed phone number.
