## Description

British Lion eggs is the consumer-facing information and recipe platform administered by the British Egg Industry Council (BEIC), the organisation representing the UK egg industry. Established in 1986, the BEIC brings together organisations from across the egg supply chain and is recognised by Government and Parliament as its representative voice. The council is funded by producers and packers participating in the British Lion scheme, whose subscribers represent more than 90% of UK egg production.

The brand helps people make the most of eggs through hundreds of recipes for breakfasts, main meals, desserts and baking, alongside quick and easy ideas and step-by-step cooking guides for boiling, poaching, frying, scrambling and making omelettes. Its website also provides information on egg nutrition, health, calories, food safety, storage, production, sizes, codes and sustainability. Dedicated resources cover pregnancy, babies, toddlers, allergies and advice for health professionals.

For businesses, educators and trade audiences, British Lion eggs offers guidance for caterers, retailers, foodservice and food manufacturers, including information about egg products and the British Lion mark.
