## Description

EGU (European Geosciences Union) is a prominent organization dedicated to advancing Earth, planetary, and space sciences. The EGU General Assembly 2021, held online from April 19 to 30, showcased a diverse community of 18,172 scientists from 135 countries. This international gathering facilitated the exchange of scientific knowledge through 13,643 live presentations across 642 scientific sessions. Participants engaged in 5 Union Symposia, 32 Medal and Award Lectures, and attended numerous networking events that fostered collaboration among early career researchers and established experts.

The event exemplified resilience and adaptability, transitioning quickly to a virtual format to enhance community interaction despite initial challenges. EGU also emphasizes accessibility and inclusivity, ensuring a welcoming environment for all participants. With a wealth of resources, including recorded sessions and extensive display materials, EGU remains committed to supporting the global scientific community. Join us in 2022 for the next General Assembly as we continue to inspire and innovate in the geosciences.
