## Description

The East Hawaiʻi Cultural Center (EHCC) is a non-profit organization located in Downtown Hilo, across from Kalākaua Park. With over 50 years of supporting the arts and culture in the Hilo community, EHCC is largely run by dedicated volunteers. They offer a wide range of programs and services that showcase the rich artistic heritage of Hawaiʻi. EHCC hosts the Youth Arts Series, Kahua 'Elua Theatre, and the Gamelan of the Molten Blossom, providing opportunities for local and international artists to exhibit their work. They also house SPACE, a curated store that features unique and culturally significant items. In addition to their programs, EHCC serves as an inclusive platform for culture and the arts. They aim to give voice to diverse communities through visual and performing arts and education. Their vision is to be culturally and socially inclusive, providing a venue for Hawaiian host culture and other voices that make up the diverse island community. If you're visiting Hilo, make sure to stop by EHCC's gallery, open from Tuesday to Saturday. Admission is free, but donations are greatly appreciated. By supporting EHCC, you contribute to the preservation and celebration of Hawaiʻi's vibrant arts and culture.
