## Description

The Electronic Healthcare System (EHS) in Ukraine is a two-component system that allows users to interact with a central database through Medical Information Systems (MIS). The EHS consists of a Central Database (CBD) and MIS. The CBD is an information and telecommunications system containing legislated registries, software modules, and information systems necessary for implementing state financial guarantees. It allows for the creation, viewing, exchange of information, and documents between registries and electronic medical information systems.

MIS are information and telecommunications systems that automate the work of healthcare entities, enabling them to store and exchange information in electronic form, including with the CBD once connected. The key roles of the EHS include CBD administration by the National Health Service of Ukraine, data analysis for population healthcare needs forecasting, and policymaking by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. The EHS provides healthcare facilities with the ability to store information digitally, ensuring efficient access and decision-making for patient care. Personal data of patients are securely stored and can be accessed by authorized medical professionals for enhanced healthcare services.
