Earth Island Institute is an international environmental organization dedicated to supporting environmental projects and leaders in finding solutions to the critical issues threatening life on Earth. Founded in 1982 by renowned environmentalist David Brower, it is one of the leading activist organizations in the United States. Earth Island Institute acts as a fiscal sponsor to over seventy-five projects, working across various domains including conservation, wildlife protection, climate change solutions, sustainable agriculture, environmental justice, and more. They provide financial management, administration, training, and peer learning to support these projects. Earth Island Institute publishes an award-winning magazine called Earth Island Journal, which covers environmental news and issues.
