## Description

Eikholt is Norway’s national resource and competence centre for people with combined vision and hearing loss, including deafblindness. Since 1980, it has provided courses and tailored services for individuals, their families and other close contacts, as well as professionals and service providers. The centre has national responsibility for NAV adaptation courses for people with combined sensory loss and works to strengthen knowledge, participation and access to relevant support.

Eikholt offers individual services and group courses, with topics ranging from everyday activities and technology to communication and practical life skills. Its services also include the Eikholt test and an audiovisual clinic for assessing vision and hearing. Alongside direct support, the organisation develops expertise, conducts and contributes to research, and shares knowledge through reports, guides, webinars and its online Knowledge Hub. Eikholt aims to explore new possibilities and develop knowledge that can make a difference in people’s lives. Based in Drammen, it serves as a specialist resource for users, families and professionals working in the field of deafblindness.
