# Eip4844 - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `eip4844.com` ## Description EIP-4844 is a groundbreaking brand that introduces a new transaction type called blobs to the Ethereum network. These blobs allow data to be stored in the beacon node for a short period of time, making it compatible with Ethereum's scaling roadmap. The advantage of blobs is their small size, which ensures manageable disk use. EIP-4844 is aligned with the rollup future, offering a trustless scaling solution for Ethereum. By reducing rollup fees by orders of magnitude, it enables Ethereum to remain competitive in the market without compromising decentralization. The commitment to forward compatibility with data-availability-sampling ensures long-term viability. Blobs are stored in beacon nodes, separate from the execution layer, allowing the execution layer to focus on other initiatives. They are pruned after approximately two weeks, striking a balance between availability and disk use. This makes them cheaper than CALLDATA, which is stored indefinitely. To support the implementation and understanding of EIP-4844, there are full specifications, client prototypes, KZG trusted setups, devnets, testnets, and a readiness checklist available. EIP-4844 is a project-neutral initiative developed openly, with contributions welcomed from developers across different teams. The brand enjoys considerable community support, with endorsements from prominent organizations like Coinbase, Worldcoin, and OP Labs. Ethereum core developers, rollup teams, dapp developers, and exchanges are also among the supporters. EIP-4844 is poised to revolutionize the Ethereum network and bring about scalability and affordability without compromising security and decentralization. ## Industries - 🖥 Computers Electronics and Technology - 🖥 Blockchain and Cryptocurrency _(under Computers Electronics and Technology)_ ## Logos & icons - logo _(primary)_ — PNG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/id_nt4vtX9/w/700/h/700/theme/light/logo.png?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1720235502474) ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Purple Heart | #502eb4 | accent | | Shark | #212529 | dark | | White | #ffffff | light | ## Fonts - Roboto — asset _(google)_ --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
