## Description

Eldis is a global development research information programme hosted by the Knowledge, Impact and Policy team at the Institute of Development Studies in the UK. Launched in 1996, it aimed to make useful and relevant research on international development freely accessible, supporting its use in policy and practice. Eldis worked with more than 70 research organisations worldwide, many based in Asia and Africa, and sought to increase the visibility of research produced by smaller organisations. Its website brought together research summaries, documents, news, blogs, country information, jobs, and themed collections covering issues such as climate change, health systems, nutrition, sanitation, and social protection. The programme closed in June 2024, and the website is now a static archive, with no new content planned and some features disabled. Eldis’s collection of research summaries remains available to download for reuse under an Open Access licence, preserving a resource for people seeking evidence on global development challenges.
