## Description

The Electric School Bus Initiative (ESB Initiative) is a transformative project by the World Resources Institute (WRI), established in collaboration with the Bezos Earth Fund. Launched in 2020, it aims to transition the entire U.S. school bus fleet to electric, emphasizing equity and sustainability. By partnering with school districts, community organizations, and manufacturers, the initiative focuses on several key areas: supporting districts in adopting electric buses, enhancing collaboration across the supply chain, and improving charging infrastructure through engagement with electric utilities.

The initiative prioritizes historically marginalized communities, providing tailored technical assistance and resources to ensure an equitable rollout. With extensive free public resources available in the Electric School Bus Initiative Resource Library, stakeholders can easily access information on funding, financing, and best practices. The ESB Initiative actively engages policymakers to advocate for solutions that dismantle barriers to electrification. By centering community voices and leveraging innovative technologies, the ESB Initiative fosters a healthier, more sustainable future for students and families nationwide.
