The Hellenic Polar Zones Society (H.P.Z.S.) is a scientific society established in 2012 by Mr. Stathis Nirikos, a retired Flag Officer of the Hellenic Navy. Officially recognized by the County Court of Athens, our members include scientists from various fields such as Medicine, Hydrography, Geology, Biology, and more. Our mission is to promote Greece's presence in the Polar Zones by conducting research, environmental observations, and data collection on animal life. Collaborating with national and international organizations, we work towards the protection of Polar Zones. We are dedicated to educating children about Polar Zone issues and representing our nation at international forums. Our activities also include an educational program for students, pending implementation due to COVID-19 restrictions. The Board of Directors, led by President Rear Admiral SYMEON KONSTANTINIDIS HN, is committed to advancing our vision and fostering a deeper understanding of the Polar Zones.
