El Futuro is a community-based nonprofit organization that aims to transform mental health care for the Latino community in North Carolina and beyond. Established in 2001 by Dr. Luke Smith to address the unmet need for bilingual mental health services, El Futuro provides therapy, psychiatry, substance use treatment, and case management in a welcoming and culturally-responsive environment.

With outpatient clinics in Durham and Siler City, El Futuro serves over 2,000 Latino youth and adults annually and extends its reach through telehealth services to more than 30 counties. Their award-winning team of psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and case managers is committed to El Futuro's mission of nurturing stronger families to live out their dreams. In addition to providing direct services, El Futuro builds statewide capacity through the La Mesita Latinx Mental Health Professional Network and advocates for system-wide change.

They also engage with the community, neighbors, and partner organizations, creating vibrant therapeutic spaces that celebrate individual and community identities. El Futuro's vision is to ensure that all Latino families seeking mental health support can access appropriate services and thrive at home, work, and school, ultimately strengthening the entire community
