## Description

ELIXIR Finland is the Finnish node of ELIXIR, a European bioinformatics infrastructure supporting life science research, development and innovation. It helps researchers address the growing volume and variety of biological and medical data through collaboration across countries and organizations. Its services support the storage, sharing, analysis and use of research data, with applications in medicine, food production and environmental research.

The node provides secure authentication and authorization through ELIXIR AAI, as well as AAI-REMS for managing data-access applications and permissions for sensitive datasets. Researchers can use Chipster for gene-data analysis, CSC Cloud services, data storage, supercomputing access, software tools and training. ELIXIR Finland also offers medical and bioinformatics tools developed in Finland and elsewhere in Europe, and connects life scientists with substantial biological and medical datasets through ELIXIR.

For data-intensive research, the node provides high-speed connectivity, including a 10 Gbit/s private network link between CSC and the Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland, used to analyze biobank genome data. ELIXIR Finland also shares research news, publications, events and training opportunities.
