## Description

El Proyecto del Barrio is a community-focused nonprofit serving underserved populations in the San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys. Since 1971, it has provided health and human services, aiming to make quality care and practical support more accessible. Its network includes family health clinics offering preventive and primary care, dental clinics, and a mobile clinic available at special events or by appointment. The organization also provides outpatient behavioral health services, including counseling and referrals for mental health and substance use concerns. Specialized support is available for pregnant, postpartum, and parenting women, alongside services such as health education, peer support, and parenting guidance.

For adults and young people, El Proyecto’s WorkSource and YouthSource centers offer employment services. Its licensed Child Development Centers serve preschool children ages three to four, with full-day and part-day programs; free preschool is available to eligible families. The organization also works through its foundation to help fund community programs and services.
