## Description

The Einsteinium Foundation is a nonprofit organization built around the EMC2 cryptocurrency and the use of blockchain technology for philanthropic funding. Its mission is to support scientific research and other causes, including education, technology development, and charitable and political initiatives. The Foundation says it funds grants through a portion of newly mined EMC2 and promotes transparent, community-driven support for projects. It also reports having contributed more than 16 million EMC2 coins to science projects.

Einsteinium is a mineable, open-source Proof-of-Work cryptocurrency launched in 2014 with no premine. Its features include one-minute block times, SegWit, Lightning Network support, and a dPoW security mechanism. The Foundation offers desktop and mobile wallets, with options for Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS, and provides developer resources such as source code, API and SDK assistance, and guidance for Lightning Network nodes. EMC2 is traded on listed exchanges, while community channels, news, educational resources, and project crowdfunding support participation.
