## Description

The EMCR Brain Science Network is an Australian initiative supporting early- and mid-career researchers working in brain science. Established in December 2017 with seed funding from the Theo Murphy Initiative, it was founded with support from the Australian Academy of Science and the Australian Brain Alliance. The Network aims to help emerging brain scientists develop into future leaders and contribute to the advancement of Australian brain science.

Membership is open to researchers within 15 years of receiving their PhD, with career interruptions excluded from this calculation, as well as PhD students and members of the public interested in brain science. The Network provides opportunities to connect with peers and learn about activities through its website, mailing list, LinkedIn presence and YouTube channel. Its site also features researcher profiles, a strategic plan, steering committee information, events and resources about EMCR groups. The Network welcomes early- and mid-career researchers from any field whose work relates to the brain, and encourages those interested in broader early-career research issues to connect with the EMCR Forum.
