EMD UK is the national governing body for group exercise, working to deliver the government's national physical activity agenda. Formerly known as EMDP (The Exercise Movement & Dance Partnership), EMD UK was established in 2006 to support dance fitness organizations. Over time, it has evolved to meet the needs of a rapidly expanding market and has now become the national governing body for group exercise.

In collaboration with Sport England, EMD UK strives to engage the 11. 5 million people in the UK who currently do not engage in any form of physical activity. They aim to introduce these individuals to group exercise opportunities, making the sector accessible for everyone.
