## Description

Emotion Coaching UK promotes the use and development of Emotion Coaching to support the emotional and behavioural wellbeing of children and young people. Its approach is based on the value of nurturing, emotionally supportive relationships and helps adults respond constructively when a child experiences heightened emotions. By acknowledging and validating feelings, adults can help children feel understood, settle, and learn more effective ways to manage emotions and behaviour.

The organisation develops and delivers training, consultancy, and practical resources for professionals, parents, and carers. Its training is intended for people who work with children and young people, including teachers, health visitors, school nurses, and youth workers. Offerings include introductory courses, online core training, practitioner accreditation, trainer guidance, and local interest group meetings. Emotion Coaching UK also supports accredited practitioners and organisations, shares research, policy guidance, blogs, newsletters, and personal stories, and provides information about the approach for families and professionals. Through these services, it aims to equip adults with strategies that can foster children’s emotional understanding, resilience, and wellbeing.
