The Institute for Employment Studies (IES) is an independent, apolitical and international centre for research and consultancy on employment policy, human resources and labour markets. Its mission is to use evidence and insight to support sustainable improvements in employment policy and human resource management, helping create a more inclusive, healthy and empowering world of work. IES examines the employment journey from education and transitions into work to workforce development, later-life careers and retirement. Its services include labour market intelligence, HR and workforce research and consultancy, intervention design and evaluation, trials, evidence generation and synthesis, and support for policy influence and systems change. The institute also publishes research reports, practical guidance, blogs and other resources for employers, policymakers and practitioners. Its work includes research on inclusive recruitment, workplace diversity and support for people with disabilities or health conditions. Through the IES HR Network, members can access events, peer connections, research, in-house training and coaching with HR experts. IES also convenes discussions and shares findings through webinars, events and a newsletter.
