About

Description

The Endangered Wolf Center has been at the forefront of conserving endangered wolves, foxes, and African painted dogs for over 50 years. Founded in the 1970s by renowned zoologist Marlin Perkins and his wife Carol, the center aims to address the serious plight of wolves at risk of extinction. Through carefully managed breeding programs, educational initiatives, and innovative reintroduction methods, they have been successful in changing the fate of these endangered canids.

Recognized as the cornerstone of wolf conservation in America, the center has achieved numerous milestones, including being the first wolf facility in the world to be certified by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). They have also contributed significantly to the red wolf and Mexican wolf breeding programs and were one of the first facilities to breed swift foxes for release. Located on the Tyson Research Center, the Endangered Wolf Center collaborates with Washington University in St.

Louis, providing opportunities for environmental research and education. With their vision of a world where endangered wolves and other wild canids thrive in their native habitats, the center continues to lead the pack in preserving and protecting these magnificent creatures
