## Description

Energy Martial Arts Studio (EMAS) is a Calgary martial arts and fitness organization that uses Taekwondo to help children, youth, and adults build confidence, self-esteem, leadership, discipline, and physical skills. Its programs include Taekwondo for children aged three to six, classes for participants aged seven and older, and adult instruction. The studio also describes an after-school martial arts program designed to support children who have difficulty focusing or listening, offered through schools, associations, and non-profit organizations. Private lessons provide individual instruction in patterns, self-defence, competitive sparring, and technical skills. Classes are led by Master Serge Tene, a senior instructor, alongside assistant instructors and a volunteer assistant instructor. The website promotes free trial classes and lists an online store with Taekwondo uniforms, chest protectors, and training foot pads. EMAS has locations associated with residents’ associations in Calgary, including Chaparral and Cranston. However, its posted notice says that classes are currently not being offered because of COVID-19 and personal reasons, and invites visitors to watch for updates.
