## Description

ENTOMIA is a naturalist consultancy founded in 2013 and based in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. It provides specialist entomology and continental mollusc expertise across the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, neighbouring departments and Corsica, with a focus on Mediterranean and southern Alpine ecosystems. Its work supports environmental assessment and the management of natural areas. Services include regulatory impact studies for development projects, ecological surveys, population monitoring, conservation management advice and support for avoidance, reduction and compensation measures. ENTOMIA also designs tailored survey protocols, delivers training in orthopteran research, and contributes to biodiversity knowledge programmes such as local biodiversity atlases and comprehensive species inventories. Its specialists study a wide range of groups, including grasshoppers, butterflies, dragonflies, cicadas, snails, bumblebees, beetles, bugs and hoverflies. The consultancy uses targeted fieldwork, mapping and ecological analysis, and develops methods such as non-lethal capture techniques and habitat-connectivity tools. Since its launch, ENTOMIA has completed more than 400 assignments, including renewable energy assessments and long-term monitoring projects. Its approach considers broad invertebrate communities while prioritising genuinely threatened species.
