## Description

The Czech Entomological Society (Česká společnost entomologická) is a Czech organization dedicated to entomology and the study of insects. It brings together members through specialist sections and regional branches focused on areas including beetles, butterflies and moths, aquatic beetles, and insect fauna. The society supports its members with access to a library, online library resources, regular meetings, and information about membership and dues.

For the wider public, the society organizes entomological excursions and lectures, and promotes an annual Insect of the Year initiative. Its website shares event schedules, news, articles, and press releases, alongside practical guidance on insect collecting, entomological research permits, and relevant Czech legislation. The society also publishes or provides information about entomological periodicals, including Podušťák and Klapalekiana, and makes publication archives and related materials available.

In addition to educational and scientific activities, the society issues expert statements on topics involving insect conservation, protected species, and nature protection. It also offers resources for young people, entomology clubs, and biology events for secondary-school students.
