## Description

The INTOSAI Working Group on Environmental Auditing (WGEA) is dedicated to enhancing environmental governance and improving auditing practices worldwide. Comprising 86 member countries, WGEA provides essential resources, including methodologies for environmental audits, guidance documents, and training programs. The group facilitates peer exchange platforms that empower Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) in their auditing roles.

WGEA offers a variety of programs, such as online courses on sustainable practices and environmental auditing tailored for public sector auditors. The group actively promotes discussions and collaborations, exemplified by their recent podcasts addressing key themes like taxation for green transitions. They also publish the Greenlines Newsletter, which shares updates on initiatives and awards within the environmental auditing community. By fostering expertise in environmental auditing, the INTOSAI WGEA strives to contribute to effective, accountable governance on a global scale, ensuring that auditing practices adapt to the urgent challenges posed by environmental concerns.
