Each One Teach One San Antonio (EOTO) is a non-profit literacy organization committed to improving the literacy skills and economic mobility of Bexar County’s adult population. Our mission is to empower functionally illiterate out-of-school teens and adults by providing individualized curricula and one-on-one and small-group tutoring. Our story began when our founders encountered an older gentleman struggling to read and understand his tax forms.

Recognizing a larger literacy need in the community, they started offering literacy tutoring, which eventually led to the formation of EOTO in 2004. At EOTO, we offer a range of programs to meet the diverse needs of our students. We provide tutoring in basic math and reading, GED® preparation, and English as a Second Language (ESL).

Our enrolled students also have access to resources such as digital literacy classes, resource fairs, and career counseling. By following the tradition of Each One Teach One, we aim to empower individuals one step at a time. We believe that when adults gain literacy skills, they can better themselves, uplift their families, break the cycle of poverty, and contribute to the overall growth and prosperity of our community.
