Description

The E. O. Wilson Biophilia Center at Nokuse Plantation is an environmental education center dedicated to promoting biodiversity and sustainability.


As a 501(c)(3) organization, the center offers free educational programs to fourth and seventh-grade students, providing them with interactive, hands-on science curriculum. The center's mission is to educate on the importance of biodiversity while encouraging conservation, preservation, and restoration of ecosystems. With over 6,500 students educated annually, the Biophilia Center plays a vital role in science education within the local community.


Students have the opportunity to explore interpretive exhibits and traverse the extensive trail system on Nokuse Plantation, learning about the natural environment and Florida's education standards. The center also offers informative exhibitions on reptiles, mammals, and birds of prey, as well as native plant exhibits throughout the campus. Founded in 2009 by M.
