## Description

The Equal Justice Society (EJS) is a nonprofit organization working to transform the nation’s understanding of race through law, social science, and the arts. Its legal strategy broadens how discrimination is understood, addressing not only intentional acts but also unconscious and structural bias. EJS combines legal advocacy with research, storytelling, and creative work to advance racial justice and equality.

The organization publishes updates, commentary, and educational materials on issues including implicit bias, reparations, reproductive justice, and the historical and ongoing effects of racial discrimination. Its projects include a Juneteenth health equity zine that brings together scholarship, personal stories, artistic expression, and legal insight to examine the Black maternal health crisis and pathways toward birth equity and repair. EJS also collaborates with other organizations and community leaders, including through the Alliance for Reparations, Reconciliation, and Truth. In addition to its advocacy and publications, EJS shares news and events through its website and email list, and invites supporters to donate, become sustaining social justice supporters, and engage with its work.
