## Description

Friends of the Equestrian Skills Course supports the development and use of an equestrian skills course at Bear Creek Regional Park in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The course is intended to give riders and horses a place to practice trail skills and prepare to enjoy Colorado’s outdoors. The organization also promotes safety and understanding among all trail users, including guidance on interacting with horses and horseback riders.

The group welcomes horse enthusiasts and trail users as general members or volunteer board members. Its activities include monthly meetings, scheduled workdays to help maintain and develop the course, and participation in an annual Poker Ride at Bear Creek Park. Members also help raise awareness of the course and encourage local horse clubs and riders to use it. People can support the organization by volunteering, partnering, or donating. Friends of the Equestrian Skills Course offers a community-focused way to contribute to equestrian recreation and safer shared trails in the Colorado Springs area.
