## Description

Saskia Gottenbos’s Equitation Académique offers an educational approach to horse training centered on the physical and mental well-being of the horse. Its structured method helps riders understand how to educate their horses step by step, build a sound foundation, and identify when to adjust training in response to confusion or physical difficulty. The aim is to develop willing, capable partners and create clear communication between horse and rider.

Training can begin on the ground and continue through work at the shoulder, longeing, and ridden exercises, with liberty work and equestrian art also featured. This broad approach can support young horses, horses in rehabilitation, and older horses, helping them develop or maintain strength, suppleness, expression, and quality of life. Riders learn to understand aids and movements in detail and are encouraged to train their horses independently. Saskia’s offerings include lessons and intensive courses, alongside instruction across these disciplines. The method emphasizes trust, softness, and enjoyment in working together, while providing a clear framework for both horse and rider to progress.
