## Description

EquiVala is a developing horse health and management app designed to help owners organize information and make better-informed decisions about the horses in their care. Its practical tools include calculators to estimate a horse’s weight from body measurements, score and track body condition, assess environmental heat and potential heat-stress risk before riding, and estimate estrous cycles and foaling dates. The app is also being built to keep horse profiles, everyday observations, measurements, and significant health events organized, with records that can be exported to share with a veterinarian.

Created by an equine scientist, researcher, professional animal scientist, equine nutritionist, and lifelong horse owner, EquiVala aims to make useful equine science understandable and practical for everyday use. Where evidence is available, its tools draw on scientific literature and established equine research; assumptions and limitations are intended to be made clear. EquiVala is designed to support informed horse management, not replace professional veterinary advice.
