## Description

Eric Zhong is a San Francisco-based engineer and developer whose work focuses on chip design, low-level systems, and the intersection of hardware and software. He is currently a GPU Architect at NVIDIA in Santa Clara, where he applies his interest in building optimized systems from first principles. Eric earned concurrent master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Southern California. His experience spans GPU hardware design, FPGA engineering, low-level software development, photonic computing research, and entrepreneurship. He is especially interested in hardware acceleration, reconfigurable computing, open-source silicon, and hardware/software co-design. After initially pursuing physics, he found his direction in computer engineering and the challenge of designing efficient computing systems. Eric’s website offers an introduction to his background and technical interests, along with access to his resume and ways to get in touch through email or social media. Outside engineering, he enjoys reading and writing, recurve archery, scuba diving, poker, and exploring restaurants around the Bay Area.
