## Description

The City of Erlangen is the municipal authority serving a Franconian city in Middle Franconia, Bavaria, home to around 120,000 residents. Its website helps residents, visitors, families, businesses, and founders find information and access public services. Many administrative matters can be handled online or by phone, while in-person visits to city offices require an appointment. The service portal provides guidance on available services and access arrangements.

The city’s work spans everyday administration and community life, including child care, energy, transportation, residence registration, and information about government offices. It also shares updates on local projects, roadworks, public safety, and city decisions. For families and young people, Erlangen highlights child care provision and the Youth Art School, which offers more than 140 courses for ages four to 24 during its fall and winter semester. The city also promotes cultural activities, leisure facilities, events, tourism, and volunteering, alongside sustainability initiatives. Through its services and public information, Erlangen supports residents’ practical needs while encouraging participation in the city’s diverse community.
