## Description

Escrime Paris Nord is a fencing club in Paris’s 18th arrondissement, founded in 2019 by Laurent Bel, a former member of the French national team for 15 years and an Olympian at the 1988 Seoul Games. The club specialises in foil fencing and welcomes participants from age five to 77, offering pathways from a first introduction to competitive and international tournaments, alongside adult recreational fencing.

Its programme serves beginners, developing fencers, competitors and adults seeking a demanding leisure sport. Training is led by state-certified fencing instructors and develops technique, tactics and control. The club’s approach emphasises diversity and inclusion, respect for opponents, self-mastery and tactical intelligence. Members learn the foil, a fast, technical weapon with a target limited to the torso and strict rules governing priority of attack.

Escrime Paris Nord offers a free trial session, with equipment provided; visitors need only wear sports clothing and clean trainers. The club is affiliated with the French Fencing Federation and publishes information on categories, schedules, fees, competitions and results.
