## Description

Esmée Fairbairn Foundation is an independent UK funder established in 1961. It works with organisations and communities to improve the natural world, secure a fairer future and strengthen community life. The Foundation supports this work through grants, social investments and additional forms of collaborative support, including its Funding Plus approach. Since its founding, it has made more than £1 billion in grants.

Its priorities span three areas. In Our Natural World, the Foundation backs efforts to restore and protect nature, improve species and habitats, safeguard freshwater, and support sustainable, ethical food. A Fairer Future focuses on social justice, anti-racism, people’s rights and opportunities to be heard and express creativity, with particular interest in organisations led by the people they serve. Creative, Confident Communities aims to help local people build vibrant places, strengthen local economies and improve access to arts and culture.

The Foundation also shares research, learning and updates about its impact, funding priorities and work.
