## Description

Etafeni is a community-focused nonprofit organisation operating the Etafeni Day Care Centre in Nyanga, Cape Town, South Africa. The centre supports children affected by AIDS, their caregivers and the wider community, providing a safe, nurturing space for learning, care and access to opportunities. Working in partnership with local people and stakeholders, Etafeni runs more than 12 programmes designed to promote wellbeing, reduce poverty and support positive change.

Its services include early education and child-focused activities, food security and nutrition, home- and community-based care, and social work and psychosocial support. The organisation also conducts household visits and outreach activities across Nyanga. In 2024–25, its work included serving 58,728 kitchen meals, reaching 1,228 children through education and related activities, making 47,253 household visits, and providing psychosocial support to 5,571 people.

Etafeni invites individuals and organisations to contribute through donations, monthly giving and volunteering. Donations help fund its programmes and sustain support for community members facing hardship.
